about
'Crossing Borders' is a song about the emerging refugee crisis going on in Europe. The recording process became an assignment for a studio engineering class at Ingesund Musikfolkhögskola in Sweden, in order to raise money, and gather necessities for the families that arrive.
lyrics
"Dark times all we ever needed was love
Crossing borders damn that hate in your eyes
Let me wake in peace and feel the morning sun
Take care of my baby because I'm on the run
In wind in rain walking down the road
away from home
It's not my fault, I didn't start this war on my own
Let me wake in peace and feel the morning sun
Take care of my baby when I'm on the run
Maybe someday under a wishing star
I could have a real home
Instead of this burned out car
If I were you and you were me
How would you feel?
I know you have nightmares to but mine is real
With just the clothes on my back and a face without a name
We're the same but you can't see that it's such a shame
Let me find some peace, so I can send it all the way back home
I'll take care of you if you're ever on the run
Dark times scared old man you scared of me
all this fear is killing us and standing in the way for peace
Let me take your hand and you can walk in my shoes for a while
Maybe then we can live side by side
Dark times all we ever needed was love,
Dark times all we ever needed was love"
